Description

The Ghost Copper Tearjerker Ring creates an organic pattern of cell-like patterns.  Using precise kiln firings, a chemical reaction occurs between the copper and glass, creating a crusty buildup at the metal edges. This buildup is deliberately corroded and cleared away using a natural chemical process before refiring. The meticulous two-cycle process takes a full six weeks to complete, leaving behind deep, shadowy  impressions. The finished jewel is set into a polished, hand-textured brass bezel with a matching patterned ring band.

This piece showcases groundbreaking craftmanship, utilising a unique eutectic process successfully achieved with copper and in the sun, the dark, stained glass catches direct light to project colour patterns onto your hand.

Stained glass featuring a ghost-copper “Tearjerker” etch. The copper lattice has been removed so there is no actual copper remaining on the glass, just the memory of it.
